This is stunning! This is a drawer front from a tansu furniture (Japanese set of drawers). It is from the Meiji Period (1868~1912) and made of Japanese cedar ("Sugi" in Japanese). There is a diamond shape metal work near the keyhole (family crest of family who owned this furniture). It is lacquered . It combined sophisticated style with the highest quality craftsmanship and finest materials to create it.
